Celebrating 4 Years of Art with Modern Meliora

As I sit down to write this, I can hardly believe it has been four years since I first embarked on this artistic adventure with Modern Meliora. It feels like just yesterday when I was nervously hitting the "publish" button on my first Etsy listing, hoping that someone out there would appreciate my handmade resin creations. Little did I know, that moment would mark the beginning of an incredible journey filled with creativity, discovery, and wonder.

The First Year: Joining Etsy

My story begins in the midst of a global pandemic of 2020. Like many, I found myself at home with an abundance of free time and a desire to create. Etsy became my platform of choice, where I introduced the world to my handmade resin creations and whimsical greeting cards. The support and encouragement I received from those initial sales were beyond heartwarming. They fueled my passion and gave me the confidence to dive deeper into the world of art.

Exploring New Mediums: Discovering my style

After that initial year, my curiosity and desire to expand my creative horizons led me to explore various art forms. Printmaking, embroidery, macrame, and more each had their moment in the spotlight. Each new medium taught me something valuable about patience, technique, and the endless possibilities of artistic expression. These explorations were not just about mastering new skills but also about discovering what truly resonated with me as an artist. It was fun to try new things and now my home holds tangible reminders of these endeavors.

Finding My True Passion: Gouache and Watercolor

It was during this period of exploration that I stumbled upon gouache and watercolor. These two mediums captivated me in a way that nothing else had. The fluidity of watercolor and the vibrant opacity of gouache opened up new avenues for my creativity. They allowed me to capture the essence of the Pacific Northwest, romanticizing everyday experiences and translating them into pieces of art. Gouache and watercolor have since become the cornerstone of my artistic practice.

Looking Back with Gratitude

As I reflect on the past four years, I am filled with immense gratitude for the incredible support I have received along the way. To my customers, followers, friends, and family: thank you. Your encouragement, feedback, and appreciation have been the driving force behind Modern Meliora. Every purchase, every like, and every kind word has meant the world to me. You have allowed me to turn my passion into a thriving business, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

Moving Forward

Looking ahead, I am excited to continue this journey of artistic growth and exploration. There are so many more ideas to bring to life, so many more stories to tell through my art. I am committed to pushing the boundaries of my creativity and sharing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with all of you.

Thank you for being a part of Modern Meliora's story. Here's to many more years of art, creativity, and connection.

Until next time, stay colorful.
